Thinking about the Annapurna Base Camp Trek via Poon Hill. Don’t just book the direct route. Join Global Compass Travels expert guides as we combine two iconic destinations of the Annapurna region.

More than a trek through direct routes, our journey loops through the Gurung Village of Ghorepani to the top of the Poon Hill viewpoint. By including the Ghorepani route, you get the time to get used to the mountains before the altitude really kicks in.

Yes, the 3,300 steps up to Ulleri is strenuous and stands as your first major obstacle, but reaching the top of the Poon Hill gives you a magical sunrise view over the Dhaulagiri and Annapurna massifs. From Poon Hill, the trail changes. You will leave the rhododendron forests behind and head deep into the Annapurna Sanctuary.

Though you reach a significant altitude, we have included sufficient time for acclimatization, making this trek ideal for trekkers of all experience levels. To wrap things up, we always stop at the natural hot springs in Jhinu Danda. After a week of walking, soaking in the warm water by the river is exactly what your muscles need.

Global Compass Travels takes care of the boring stuff. We provide a comprehensive ABC and Poon Hill trekking package by including all necessary logistics. Our package includes local jeep transfers, ACAP, and TIMS permits, and expert guides.

Let’s head to the Himalayas together. Bookings are open for 2026/2027.
