Day 2

Trek from Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel

Today, you officially enter the “Red Panda Trail.” You will follow the Langtang Khola through dense forests of oak and maple. Keep your eyes peeled on this specific stretch of the forest where Red pandas are often spotted during the quiet early morning hours.

As you head to Lama Hotel, you will cross several suspension bridges where the mist from the river provides a refreshing cool-down.

Meals: Breakfast (Lunch & Dinner self-funded)
Accommodation: Teahouse/Lodge
Day 3

Trek from Lama Hotel to Langtang Village

Your journey continues to ascend toward Langtang Village. The journey reveals stunning Langtang Lirung views. As you head to your destination, you will pass the old Langtang Village, a poignant reminder of the 2015 earthquake. A memorial wall of mani stone stands here to honor the lost lives.

Upon reaching your hotel, you can ask for a freshly pressed Sea Buckthorn juice. This tart “Holy Fruit” is packed with vitamins and is a perfect natural energy booster.

Max Altitude: 3,430m (11,253ft)
Meals: Breakfast (Lunch & Dinner self-funded)
Accommodation: Teahouse/Lodge
Day 4

Trek from Langtang Village to Kyanjin Gompa

Today’s trek is short and allows your body to adjust to the thinning air. The journey to Kyangin Gompa passes through yak pastures and small streams. Kyanjin Gompa is the final permanent settlement in the valley.

In the afternoon, you can visit the famous Yak Cheese Factory. The cheese here is believed to have a unique taste because the yaks here graze on medicinal herbs. Remember to buy a few slices for your hike tomorrow.

Max Altitude: 3,870m (12,696ft)
Meals: Breakfast (Lunch & Dinner self-funded)
Accommodation: Teahouse/Lodge
Day 5

Explore Kyanjin Gompa; hike Kyanjin Ri or Tserko Ri

You reach the pinnacle of your journey today. For the ultimate view, you can climb the Tserko Ri (4,984 meters). Standing at this high-altitude viewpoint is a humbling experience. As snow-capped peaks and glaciers surround you, you can take in the breathtaking sights of the majestic Langtang Lirung (7,227 meters) and Yala Peak.

If you prefer a shorter hike, you can trek to Kyanjin Ri, which offers equally breathtaking views of the valley below.

Max Altitude: 4,773m (15,659ft)
Meals: Breakfast (Lunch & Dinner self-funded)
Accommodation: Teahouse/Lodge
Day 6

Trek from Kyanjin Gompa back to Lama Hotel

Leaving the majestic peaks behind, you head back to the lower altitude destination of Lama Hotel. The descent is faster and offers a different perspective of the landscape. However, the constant downhill trek can be hard on the knees. Follow the Himalayan rhythmic step as shown by your guide to minimize the impact.

Max Altitude: 2,480m (8,136ft)
Meals: Breakfast (Lunch & Dinner self-funded)
Accommodation: Teahouse/Lodge
Day 7

Trek from Lama Hotel to Syabrubesi

On your final trekking day, you will feel the air is much warmer and easier on the lungs. The journey takes you back into the lush greenery, where you will pass through the village of Rimche.

There is a small hidden shortcut toward the end of the trail that leads you through a beautiful bamboo grove. Ask your guide to take you there to spot local wildlife before reaching Syabrubesi.
